Today is the AXON – Stroke/Stableford Competition

This Saturday’s Stroke/Stableford (not for handicap) competition is proudly sponsored by Axon Roofing, thanks to club member Tom Hutchinson (sponsor of the 16th hole). Tom has kindly aligned his business with the day and has also provided a special additional prize for the overall winner. We thank Tom for his generous support of the Club.

And don’t forget – morning coffees and bacon & egg rolls are available until 9am. Head upstairs early to grab a barista-made 'Colombian Elementary Roasted Coffee' and a fresh B&E roll (only while stocks last!).

       Staff Welcome – Hamish

We’re delighted to officially welcome Hamish Crafter to the Blackwood Golf Club hospitality team.

Hamish is a Cherry Gardens local. He’s currently studying a Bachelor of Finance and Banking at Adelaide University and admits to having a keen interest and enjoying a bit of a dabble on the stock markets in his spare time.

Since joining the bar team a few weeks ago, Hamish has quickly settled into Club life and has already impressed with his skills – particularly behind the coffee machine, where he’s picked up barista duties with ease (and, according to Hailee, is already much better than Me!).

Please join us in giving Hamish a warm Blackwood welcome, and be sure to say hello and let him pour you a coffee or a drink when next upstairs, we’re excited to have him on board!

Junior Development Policy & Call for Mentors

The Club's new Junior Development Policy was introduced this week. Designed to support and guide our younger members as they grow their golfing skills, etiquette, and confidence on the course. A key part of this initiative is a mentoring program, where juniors must complete six competition rounds with an approved adult mentor before becoming eligible for general club competitions. We are now seeking volunteer mentors – parents, committee members, or experienced golfers – who can provide support and guidance. A current WWCC is required (with the Club assisting where needed). If you’d like to get involved and help shape the future of our junior program, please contact me (Adam) at gm@blackwoodgolf.com.au or 8388 2313.
