Correction to 'Between the Green'

Please note a correction to the recent Between the Greens email: the total cost of the irrigation program was incorrectly listed as $1.3 million. This was a typographical error. The correct figure is $1.73 million. Apologies for this typo, we appreciate your understanding.

Rake It Right – Help Everyone Enjoy the Game

Here’s a real-life example from last Friday’s comp of how one poorly placed rake can unfairly affect play. A ball rolling into this bunker on 18 caught the rake left partway down the face, stopping awkwardly and leaving the player with a tough downhill lie.

A reminder to all: rakes should be left teeth down pointing in the direction of play, on the flat surface within the bunker. A bit of care and courtesy helps keep things fair and enjoyable for everyone out on course.

Breezeway/Foyer Update

The Committee of Management resolved in 2024 that the breezeway and entrance foyer required revitalisation to improve their visual appeal and member engagement. Over recent months, you may have noticed the removal of noticeboards and other items from these spaces. Any items of historical significance have been carefully documented and archived.

The Presidents’ photographs have also been temporarily taken down. These will be digitised and made available on the Club’s website, with a smaller physical version to be developed and reinstated within the foyer or breezeway. Now that the area has been cleared, planning is underway to present these spaces in a more modern, welcoming and engaging way.

Pace of Play Tip of the Week – Be Ready, Not Rushed

Help keep the field moving by being ready to play before it’s your turn. That means selecting your club, planning your shot, and being near your ball as others play — without distracting them, of course. A few small habits like this go a long way in keeping rounds enjoyable for everyone!

Sweet Milestone for Hailee

Our ever-cheerful hospitality star Hailee celebrated her 21st birthday on Wednesday – and true to form, she powered through the early shift with a smile before being (rightfully!) excused for the evening. We surprised her with a chocolate cake from the team. Pictured here with bar supervisor Liz and finance officer Sarah, Hailee proves that even on your birthday, great service and a smile never go out of style. Happy 21st, Hailee!.

Junes Been a Wet One...

June has been a notably wet month for our region, with the Golf Course recording 99.5mm of rainfall—significantly above the area's average of approximately 60mm for June . Notably, 55.5mm of this total fell within the past week alone, highlighting the intensity of recent weather patterns. In comparison, Cherry Gardens/Ironbank typically averages around 45mm of rainfall in June , making this month's totals particularly remarkable. This substantial rainfall will greatly benefit the course long-term, especially after the recent dry spell and below-average rainfall in preceding months.
