Hedonist Wednesday Stableford

Last week’s Hedonist Wednesday Stableford (17 September) was another great day on course with some impressive scoring throughout the day. Special thanks once again to Walter, Tim, and the team at Hedonist for their generous support.

Congratulations to Andrew Hillier, who claimed the win on a countback with an impressive 41 points, edging out both Ion Wallace and Shane Fishlock. Andrew will enjoy a well-earned magnum of Hedonist Shiraz as his prize!

Welcome Georgia

We are delighted to welcome Georgia Webb to the Blackwood Hospitality Team. Georgia joins us as a Duty Manager, bringing with her over three years’ experience in the same role at the Hahndorf Inn. During her time there, she led and trained staff while fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and exceptional service – qualities that will make her a great asset to Team BGC.

Georgia already settling in, pictured handing over a coffee to President Chris Lemm – a small sign of the warm and professional service she is known for.

Georgia holds a Bachelor of Animal Science from the University of Adelaide and will be pursuing her dream of becoming a veterinarian over the coming years. Originally from Mount Barker, she now resides locally in Blackwood. Outside of work and study, Georgia enjoys the gym and playing netball.

Please join us in giving Georgia a warm Blackwood welcome!.

New Fleet of High-Tech Golf Carts Have Arrived...

We’re excited to announce the arrival of 10 brand-new EZGO golf carts, each fitted with state-of-the-art GPS and on-board technology designed to maximise your playing experience. To complement the fleet, four of our newest carts from our previous fleet have been retained and have also been upgraded, meaning the total Club fleet has grown from 10 to 14 carts — just in time for an exciting peak season of golf at Blackwood!

From the moment you tee off, you’ll notice the difference:

  • Personal Caddie at Your Fingertips – GPS course mapping, 3D flyovers, digital scoring, and live pace-of-play tracking.

  • Tournament Ready – Real-time leaderboards with Golf Genius integration, live announcements, and updates direct to your cart.

  • Crystal-Clear Display – A bright touchscreen with enhanced hole graphics for better strategy and play.

  • Member Messaging – Food & beverage reminders and club announcements.

Beyond the tech, these new carts feature cutting-edge Samsung lithium batteries, meaning less energy use, quicker charging, lighter weight, and smoother turf interaction to help us protect our course. Importantly, they deliver consistent power and performance, whether brand-new or five years down the track.

And here’s the best news for Blackwood members: despite the upgrade, there is no increase in member cart hire prices. Member hire remains just $45 per round, with even better value available through the below offers:

  • 10-game member voucher for $350 (save $100),

  • Annual member cart package – 2 rounds a week for $2,000, or

  • Annual member cart package – 3 rounds a week for $2,500.

This exciting upgrade means more carts, more availability, and a better experience for everyone heading into the busy summer period. Jump in one of our new carts next time you’re at the club and enjoy the ride!
